Fort Bend Food News — Week of October 21, 2012

This week, we reviewed Corelli’s Italian Cafe and Pier 36 Seafood & Oyster Bar.  Both meals were delicious!

The news continues to roll in this week:

Flying Saucer Draught Emporium is hosting Beerfeast on October 27 from 1:00-7:00 pm at their Sugar Land Town Square location.  Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 at the door, if they are not already sold out.

Speaking of Flying Saucer, roflhouse provides a photo essay of Flying Saucer’s recent Tutored Beer Dinner.

Guru Burgers & Crepes made Eater Houston’s list of 12 restaurants worth leaving the Beltway for.  Mai Pham from Eating…Our Words did leave the Beltway to visit Guru.  There were some things she liked better than others, but she loved the sweet potato fries!

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is opening a new location in Katy at La Centerra.

Eater Houston reports that Star Cinema Grill will soon be replacing their 35mm film projectors with Sony 4K Digital Projectors by the end of this month.  The manager believes this will enhance the meal and movie experience.

Chili Bob’s Houston Eats brought us part 2 of his report on the Silk Road Festival in Stafford.

Tradicao Brazilian Steakhouse‘s Fort Bend location raised $4,325 for Houston Restaurant Weeks, benefitting the Houston Food Bank.  The event raised over $1.2 million overall.
