Firecracker Chicken Wraps from LongHorn Steakhouse

Happy Sunday!  This week we reviewed Molto Bene and LongHorn Steakhouse.

This week there is one opening and one closing to report.

Louisiana Homestyle Kitchen is now open in Missouri City at 5418 Highway 6, near LA Fitness.  Apparently it opened earlier this month, but I just noticed the big “Now Open” sign this weekend.

Pierson’s Cajun & Country Cafe in Missouri City has closed.  The website is still up and running, but a drive-by this morning confirmed that the restaurant has, in fact, closed.  Fort Bend Food Blog reader Debra G. had raved about the Sunday brunch here, and it was on my list of places to try.  I’m sad I didn’t get to eat there.

Here’s another report from CultureMap Houston on Aura’s impending move to Sugar Land Town Square.

Chron.com’s Ultimate Fort Bend section ran a nice feature on Sugar Land’s All About Cakes bakery.

August is almost here, which means Houston Restaurant Weeks are almost here too!  If your unfamiliar with this fundraiser, it started out as Houston Restaurant Week, but became so popular that it now runs for the entire month of August.  Participating restaurants offer a 3- or 4-course dinner for $35, and $5 is donated to the Houston Food Bank.  Some restaurants also offer a 2- or 3-course lunch for $20, with $3 being donated to the Houston Food Bank.  It benefits a great cause and gives you a chance to experience some new restaurants!  Please remember to tip your server appropriately, as these prices are often significantly less than what you would pay if ordering the same items off the regular menu.  There are several Fort Bend restaurants participating in Houston Restaurant Weeks (click on the restaurant name to see their special menus), including:

Aura

Azuma on the Lake

Blu

Churrasco’s

Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille (Katy and Sugar Land)

Post Oak Grill

It’s hot outside!  Get yourself into an air-conditioned restaurant and have some great food!
